Smokin’ Mtn Chicken Wing Sauce – 50/50 Sweet & Spicy

I’m just going to WING it here….First ever blog on food. Nobody reads the fine print (SKIP TO RECIPE) SIKE I wont make it that easy.

If you’re still reading Congrats! I’m going to let you in on a little SECRET. Life is Short, Smoke Meat. And in this case WINGS!

Dont be THAT guy, and NOT make these.

Okay, okay….Long story short. We’ve all heard that story of our grandparents walking both ways up a snow struck ridge to cross the creek barefoot while being chased by a Griz… don’t knock it. Crazier things have happened.

Let’s be REAL, Wings are the best invention since well.. 1964 when it was publicly announced in NY. Add wing sauce, BOOM it makes the world GO ROUND. So My family and I would like to share the ELUSIVE, never shared before, VIRGIN sauce if you will, with the world. Consider this a favor, because your mouth will EXPLODE with flavor you never thought could be real. Dreams don’t work, unless you do.

Brought to you locally, hand-crafted, one of a kind, deal breaking, life saving, turn around bright eyes – Smokin’ Mtn Chicken Wing Sauce:

-Toss Wings with 1/4 cup Olive Oil before adding Dry Ingredients-

Dry Ingredients:

2 TBS – Alpine Touch

2 TBS – BBQ Seasoning

1 TBS – Garlic Powder

1 TSP – Cayenne Pepper

1 TSP – Smoked Paprika

3/4 TSP – Cumin

3/4 TSP – Ground Ginger

After tossing in Dry Ingredients, place on smoker at 250 degrees for 30 minutes.

Next Start Prepping the world famous

Smokin’ Mtn WING Sauce Ingredients:

6 oz. – Tequila Lime Habanero BBQ Sauce

1/2 Cup – Local Jam (I’m using Klier’s Orchard Sugar Plum jam out of Missoula, MT) Amazing!

3/4 TBS Lime Juice

Mix well in a bowl.

Baste wings and flip, repeat every 20 minutes until internal temp reaches 155 degrees.

This step is important –

Turn Smoker to 400 degrees – Continue flipping and basting to keep moist until desired crispness is achieved.

Mission Accomplished.

Serve with a tall glass of beer/wine/seltzer/blue dolphin on the rocks – THE WORLD IS YOUR OYSTER.

Enjoy folks!
